This restoration required a long, meticulous and technically demanding intervention in order to preserve it in an optimally stable condition.
This panel was weakened by the use of glued and screwed boards.
The unstable paint layer had to be protected and completely re-fixed, followed by the removal of the boards and construction of a batten system, in accordance with each original part. This procedure ensures the maintenance of the work, while allowing it to breathe. The fixed battens are laid in the direction of the wood grain and movable slats are inserted laterally. After a careful reintegration and a spray varnish, the panel is placed in its frame.
